The maps below show the Symmetric Extremal Dependence Index (SEDI) skill score for two combined hindcast dates (1st and 16th of the month) from ACCESS-S2. The SEDI standard error accounts for autocorrelation in the 9 ACCESS-S2 hindcast members. Here we show the prediction skill of ACCESS-S2 for a burst event to occur in the week or fortnight periods. Average SEDI over northwest Australia, northeast Australia and southeast QLD are shown.
